Established in 2013, Surbiton Amateur Boxing Club is affiliated to the National Governing Body - England Boxing, with the aim of providing a safe and productive environment for the training and coaching of competitive Olympic style Amateur Boxing.
We open our doors to other groups of the community such as recreational boxers, youth clubs, beginners, charity groups and local schools.
During the competitive boxing season we have registered amateur boxers represent the club in competitions. During the gym sessions you will find ‘no nonsense’ boxing and fitness training at a young club with great energy. In our boxers you will find Dedication, Determination & Discipline.
All training is led by a close-knit team of fully qualified coaches who will give guidance and advice during the sessions.
The team share a passion for teaching and passing on their knowledge. Directed by the head coach Harry Morris, the coaching team align their teachings with a shared objective to produce a fundamentally sound training program.
With many combined years of personal boxing experiences, the team have a unique approach to coaching. Boxers are encouraged to show character and personality in their perfomance but educated to demonstrate a high level of understanding in the foundations of boxing.
The team is made up of both male and female coaches from different backgrounds and age ranges. With each coach playing to their strengths, it means the boxers gain a broad spectrum of uniform teachings all under one roof.
